Arm-Helmet [ahrm-hel-mit]

Using your forearms and elbows to encase your head, providing 360 degree protection.

Prerequisites:
Bailing in the middle of any inverted trick.

Steps

Realizing you are about to face plant the ground. Admitting this to yourself is key to preparing for the next few steps. The sooner you recognize this, the better

Quickly, tuck your chin into your chest. This will force you to flex your neck muscles and protect your face (most important feature of the head).

Preventing injuries such as: rug burns, broken noses, chipped teeth, and black eyes.

Once your chin is secured, raise your arms in ‘L’ shapes. The idea is to put your elbows in your ears. Try it. Don’t lock them in this position, we will be moving them in a split second.

With your elbows in your ears, pinch together at about eyebrow level. Because it is near impossible to pinch them together with your head in the middle, they will slide into a V shape position. Now your wrists should be touching the ears.

With your wrists at your ears, you will want to make a circular motion upward. Each hand should travel about 90 degrees, at which point they meet at the top of your head. Be sure your palms are touching your hair.

Now firmly press your biceps against your forehead and flex (like you would in the bathroom mirror)

Flexing biceps firmly positioned on your forehead its time you locked your wrists in the “limp wrist” position. If your wrists are flailing about, they will surely be injured.

At this point your Arm-Helmet is almost complete. With your Arm-Helmet in place hold your breath, make sure your tongue isn’t located between upper and lower teeth, and secure jaw by slightly clinching teeth together (not too hard).
